Company activities and impact

Community Stars U.K. CIC is a Wembley, Brent based community interest organisation established in 2024. The CIC works across digital inclusion, cultural education, community wellbeing and sports engagement, with a mission to strengthen local communities and celebrate cultural heritage. During the year, the organisation took part in the London Fashion Show, showcasing Goan Portuguese traditional outfits to promote cultural awareness. It also organised a Goan heritage and cultural event in Wembley attended by around 200 local residents, featuring music, dance and cultural displays to support community cohesion. The CIC also provided digital guidance, including basic IT skills and support with accessing online services. Additional activities included general community guidance and wellbeing support. These activities helped increase digital confidence, support cultural identity, encourage participation and improve community wellbeing. The CIC plans to continue developing cultural, digital and wellbeing programmes to benefit local residents.

Consultation with stakeholders

Before and after an event, we welcome opinions of the community members and volunteers as we want to organise activities that are needed by the community and have a community benefit. We collected feedback forms during the Goan Heritage and Cultural event from people and community members who attended it. Community members are also in touch with us through community whatsapp groups. During meetings, all the directors get to share their ideas and we agree to plans for events and future or we discuss it further by sharing the pros and cons. For example, while organising the Goan Heritage and Cultural event, we had meetings and also, spoke over the whatsapp when in doubt. Community members stay in touch with us too. There was a demand for cultural events as per the discussions with the community. We organised the Goan Heritage and Cultural event as we were sure that people will like it and we were sure that they will attend. We recieved good feedback about the Goan Heritage and Cultural event during and after the event. Recently, we have recieved feedback about organising a community get together, Health and well being event and also, digital skills workshops. We have discussed this amongst us and if we can, we will see how to execute this/organise these events for the community. We will continue this approach for our future services, activities and events. Community Stars U.K. CIC is committed to ongoing engagement with the community members and stakeholders.
