Principal activities of the company

"For the year ending 30th April 2024, Newbury Community Football Group CIC was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies. No members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its accounts for the year in question in accordance with section 476. The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts. These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies’ regime. In terms of annual accounts NCFG has received confirmation of dormancy and had no ""significant accounting transactions"" during the accounting period. There are no profit and and loss entries during this accounting period and confirmation of dormancy status has ben checked and confirmed with HMRC prior to this submission"

Company activities and impact

The CIC is run by volunteers and represents local football groups in the Newbury area, with a view to protecting, maintaining and retaining community football facilities. Lots of meetings and awareness campaigns were run in this year including: Regular zoom and face to face meetings with local football club representatives Continuation of lobbying West Berkshire Council for the re-opening of Faraday Road Football Ground Creating and running public awareness campaigns Liaising with Sport England and Berks and Bucks FA Engagement with local press and media to encourage coverage

Consultation with stakeholders

NCFG continues to be an inclusive voluntary organisation with members representing a large cross section of the footballing community in and around Newbury, including senior football; and youth football There are named director –Lee McDougall, John Stewart and Nic Robbins There is a membership of 7 people who represent the member clubs. The Committee meets on a regular basis (as a minimum once every 2 months). NCFG has continued to develop its website, adding new pages to keep everyone up to date with developments, projects and general news.
