COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

TRIBE RUGBY CIC

Company Number: 14809006 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 April 2025

Company activities and impact

Tribe Rugby CIC has been running regular rugby related activities in different community locations this financial year. We have brought rugby to some of the most deprived communities in Hastings and the country (Quantock Gardens, Farley Bank and Downs Farm). Young people in these (and other communities) find it difficult to access the local rugby club, and clearly benefit from rugby and it's values. Tribe Rugby deliberately time sessions in the evenings and on Friday's when possible, to prevent young people from engaging in illegal and/or antisocial actions. We delivered a number of school holiday activity sessions in collaboration with Active Hastings. These session were free to all. As part of our projects we organised (with Active Hastings) and delivered a day at the local rugby club for the young people we have been working with. This involved travel to and from the club, taking part in a contact session, meeting senior players, watching a senior game of rugby and a hot lunch. Tribe Rugby also offered a scholarship to one child to help them continue in the sport, this include covering the cost of membership, kit and travel. From April 2024 and 2025 we engaged with over 70 young people (ranging in age from 3 to 22), over 4 sites and delivered nearly 30 sessions.

Consultation with stakeholders

Active Hastings has commissioned our work and we have been in constant consultation. This has meant moving the project location to serve the needs of each community and support Active Hastings in it's wider strategy for the community. We have also developed a relationship with Hastings & Bexhill RFC, to maintain exciting taster days that benefit all. Many young people we engage in our activities have been accompanied by parents. Their feedback has been invaluable when planning sessions related to individual needs and understanding the wider context of the local community. I have also had meetings with individuals that have donated to our activities to ensure they are happy with our work, in order that we maintain a their financial support.
