Between the Blue and Green CIC operates as a community interest company delivering cultural, environmental and wellbeing-focused events for the benefit of the local community. The company’s primary activities include the organisation and delivery of film festivals, creative events, talks, workshops and community gatherings that promote sustainability, environmental awareness, mental wellbeing and social connection. During the financial year, the company delivered and supported a range of community-based events that brought people together in accessible, inclusive settings. These activities encouraged dialogue around climate action, nature connection, creativity and personal wellbeing, while also supporting local venues, artists, filmmakers and small businesses. The company’s events have benefited the community by: increasing access to cultural and educational experiences linked to sustainability and wellbeing; fostering social connection and reducing isolation through shared community experiences; raising awareness of environmental and social issues through film, discussion and creative engagement; providing platforms for local creatives, practitioners and organisations to showcase their work; and contributing positively to community resilience, wellbeing and environmental understanding. All activities are aligned with the company’s community interest objectives and surplus income is reinvested to support future community-focused programmes and events.
The company’s stakeholders include event attendees, local residents, volunteers, partner organisations, artists, filmmakers, facilitators, venue partners and local community groups. Stakeholder consultation takes place through a combination of informal and structured feedback methods, including post-event discussions, feedback forms, email correspondence and conversations during events. The company also works closely with partner organisations and venues to shape its programme and ensure activities are relevant and accessible. Feedback received has informed the selection of event themes, accessibility considerations, pricing structures and the balance between educational, creative and wellbeing-focused content. The company has responded positively to stakeholder input by adapting its programming, increasing opportunities for community participation and strengthening partnerships with local organisations aligned with its values.
