Hastings Punk Choir CIC is a community choir with an emphasis on singing punk songs. The choir was set up to support the local community through music. We benefit the local community through the creation of an inclusive positive community group which meets weekly and is funded through voluntary donations so is open to all participants regardless of income. We use singing as a means to support health and wellbeing and many people have joined due to social isolation and they have found the activities and community to be beneficial to their lives. The choir helps its participants to learn new skills and we support them to built the confidence to perform in public. Throughout the year we have provided free public performances supporting a variety of charitable and community and cultural activities.
The companies stakeholders are its choir members. We consult and involve the choir members with decision making on all aspects of the choir. They are actively involved with the forward planning of the choir by choosing the music, and selecting or helping to co-ordinate performances and discussing how our voluntary donations are used to continue to enable the choir to thrive. Everyone in the choir is invited to contribute in the decision making of how we progress and evolve. We also invite feedback from the local community during our performances.
