COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

Year Ending: 30 April 2025

Company activities and impact

The activities at Oak Barton Farm CIC in the financial year of 2024/25 where mainly focused on setting up the company and necessary infrastructure to achieve its goals in the future. Oak Barton Farm has started to set up a regenerative, organic, no dig market garden that is starting to produce healthy, nutritious foods and natural medicine to the highest standards. This has been made available to the community through direct sales mainly on local farmers markets. We have started to create the regenerative farming ecosystem around the values of our company. This involved planting of more than 7000 trees and hedgerow plants, creating 1km of new hedgerows, a new orchard and new woodland. The planting was accompanied by volunteering and community involvement such as volunteer days, workshops and events involving our local community. This gave participants the opportunity to connect to nature, to local production of food and natural medicine as well as to natural healing, wellbeing, and community engagement. The benefits of these new plantings to local and regional biodiversity, climate change resilience, flood protection and much more will continue to grow over the coming years. We have also started to set up the infrastructure to host wellbeing services at Oak Barton Farm. The director Alexa Barton has completed her certification as Spinal Flow practitioner in this financial year and we have set up basic infrastructure to host her therapy sessions.

Consultation with stakeholders

There has been no formalised stakeholder consultation in this financial year. Informal stakeholder consultations take place through conversations at the farmers market and on volunteer days and community events. Farmers Market costumers and volunteers from our local community are important stakeholder groups. In response to those informal conversations we have continued to set up our company according to our vision, as we received a lot of encouragement from all these conversations.
