During the financial year, the company delivered a small number of targeted community-focused activities. These activities were aligned with the company’s mission to support leadership, wellbeing, and personal development within the hair, beauty, barbering, fitness, and wellness sectors. As part of Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, the company hosted a “Lunch & Learn” webinar series aimed at frontline service providers, including salon owners, hairdressers, and beauticians. Delivered in collaboration with a safeguarding consultancy and a domestic abuse charity, the session raised awareness of domestic abuse and provided practical guidance on how professionals can identify signs of abuse and support clients and colleagues. The session engaged approximately 20 women and contributed to improving safeguarding awareness within community-based service environments. The company also hosted an in-person event bringing together leaders from the barbering, fitness, and wellness industries. This event provided a platform for speakers to share their experiences of building businesses, leading communities, and managing challenges such as mental health and work-life balance. The event was attended by approximately 30 men and created a safe space for open discussion, inspiration, and peer learning. In addition, the company delivered a panel discussion event focused on entrepreneurship and leadership. This gathering featured experienced industry leaders who shared personal stories, challenges, and successes, offering attendees an authentic insight into the realities of business ownership. The event attracted approximately 40 women and supported increased confidence, resilience, and knowledge among aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. Overall, while activity levels were limited, the company’s work during the year provided meaningful community benefit by promoting safeguarding awareness, supporting mental wellbeing, and fostering leadership development within underrepresented and grassroots professional communities.
The company’s key stakeholders include young people and adults interested in the hair, beauty, barbering, and wellness industries; salon owners, barbers, and wellness practitioners; aspiring entrepreneurs; community members accessing events and training; partner organisations such as safeguarding consultants and charities; and industry leaders contributing to programmes and events. Stakeholders have been consulted through a combination of direct engagement methods, including post-event feedback forms, informal discussions during and after events, social media interactions, and collaborative planning sessions with partner organisations and speakers. These approaches have enabled the company to gather insights on participant needs, preferred topics, and areas for improvement. Feedback highlighted a demand for more education around safeguarding, mental health, and the realities of entrepreneurship, as well as a need for safe, inclusive spaces for open discussion and peer learning. In response, the company incorporated safeguarding-focused content into its webinar series, created events that encouraged honest conversations around mental health and leadership, and ensured that speakers shared real-life experiences to provide practical and relatable insights.
