The company delivers singing related activities to the community for health and wellbeing benefits The company has been developing and coordinating it’s first project ‘The Solihull Choir Festival’ since March 2025 was delivered on the 26th-29th June 2025 . During the financial year 2024-2025, the companies’ activities have benefited the community in the following ways: local small businesses, schools, community groups and faith groups have had the opportunity to offer their members a chance to perform free of charge with other choirs in the area. The project engaged with 20 local schools and 40 other choirs. A total of 1200 participants (450 were school children) local businesses that deliver singing related activities such as choirs a chance to network, collaborate and share knowledge, skills and contacts The wider community recieved a weekend of free performances from local choirs and music groups The choirs and wider community were offered free singing and wellbeing related workshops The project employed several local professionals including producer, technical staff and BSL sign language experts, St Johns Ambulance. The project generated local sponsorships and donations from businesses and fundraisning events including John Lewis & Partners to fund via the CIC
The company’s stakeholders are: Local schools and colleges both primary and secondary Local businesses that deliver choirs sessions in the Solihull area Local community not for profit groups that deliver choir sessions in the area Faith organisations that have a choir within their structure Solihull Council Local shopping centre (Touchwood) Solihull Music Service Prior to the development of the choir festival project we engaged with all stakeholders with a questionnaire to find out what benefits they feel they would receive from this type of event and what would they like to see included which is where the idea of free workshops developed from. 100% of the questionnaire responses agreed that the following benefits would be achieved: Performance opportunity for choirs (some of whom would not have access to this opportunity in their geographical areas) A chance to learn from other organisations delivering choirs and singing for wellbeing A chance to build connections with other choir leaders in the area An opportunity to showcase what is on offer to the wider community An opportunity to promote the welfare benefits of singing to the wider community Following the choir festival we engaged with stakeholders for feedback. https://www.solihullchoirfestival.co.uk/2025 70% of participants said the choir festival booted their confidence 75% said that the choir festival improved their health and wellbeing 71st said that the choir festival helped to build community
Anya Small (Director) is due to receive a sum of £1600 for her work on the project as project Director which amounts to 40 hours @£40 per hour (many more voluntary hours were spent on the project Louise Edwards (Director) recieved a sum of £100 for her involvement at a BSL interpreter for the project and £100 for leading a workshop
