Company activities and impact

Our work this year has been focused on creating communities of older adults and challenging ageism through inclusive, accessible activities exclusively for those aged 55 and over. During the year ending 31 July 2025, we: - Delivered our Patina Programme offering a wide range of accessible, inclusive and interest-led activities, courses, social events and celebrations - Operated Patina Performance, a theatre company of older adults creating socially engaged theatre that values personal narratives and celebrates individuality - Ran community engagement projects including Powerful Pens (sharing experiences of ageing), Community Portraits (showcasing older adults at community events), and Future Self (reframing ageing without limits) - Participated in community festivals including the Regent's Roots Festival in North London - Built partnerships to support the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing objectives - Hosted 3 placement positions for higher education students. The company's activities helped the community by: - Providing accessible creative and social opportunities specifically for older adults aged 55 and over, addressing social isolation and promoting active ageing - Challenging ageism through positive representation and celebration of older adults' contributions, experiences, and aspirations - Creating intergenerational understanding through public performances and community exhibitions that showcase the talents and perspectives of older adults - Supporting healthy ageing by promoting wellbeing, social connection, and continued learning in later life - Strengthening community connections by bringing together older adults from diverse backgrounds and facilitating meaningful social engagement - Generating new creative and performance opportunities for older adults.

Consultation with stakeholders

We consulted with our stakeholders (older adults aged 55+ who participate in our programmes) through feedback collection during events, post-activity surveys, and informal discussions. The feedback received helped us understand the impact of our programmes on combating social isolation and the importance of age-positive messaging. This informed our approach to programme development and our continued focus on challenging ageist stereotypes.
