| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| Turnover |
| Turnover represents service charges receivable in respect of the year, excluding value added tax. |
| Service charges are invoiced in advance twice per annum. These are estimated and based on anticipated expenditure. Where actual expenditure is less than service charges invoiced this surplus is reflected as a profit in the accounts. These profits are only available to reduce future service charges. |
| Taxation |
| The company's business consists exclusively of trading between itself and members. Under these circumstances the company's trading profits are exempt from corporation tax. Interest received remains taxable as this does not arise from the mutual trading activities. |

| The nature of the company is that it trades exclusively with its members and the tenants of Omega Court who are all obliged to become members of the company. |
| As a consequence, the whole of the reported turnover is derived from tenants of Omega Court, all of which are members of the company. Also the trade debtors as shown in note 4 are due from members of the company. |
