During the financial year, the company continued to provide and support an inclusive sea swimming community in Weymouth, promoting physical health, mental wellbeing, and social connection. The organisation facilitates access to safe, year-round open water swimming for individuals of all ages and abilities, including beginners and experienced swimmers. Its activities centre on maintaining and promoting community use of sea swimming facilities and organising informal and social swimming opportunities. These activities have benefited hundreds of local residents and visitors by encouraging regular exercise, reducing social isolation, and supporting mental health, with cold-water swimming increasingly recognised for its wellbeing benefits. The CIC has also fostered a supportive peer network, where experienced swimmers share knowledge and safety guidance with others, helping to build confidence and accessibility in open water swimming. Engagement with the wider community, including informal collaboration with health and wellbeing practitioners, has further extended these benefits. Overall, the company’s activities have contributed to a healthier, more connected local community, while making effective use of coastal resources for public benefit.
