COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

THE SPORTS COLLECTIVE CIC

Company Number: 12756690 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 July 2025

Company activities and impact

The Sports Collective CIC operates as a not-for-profit community organisation providing accessible, inclusive sport-based programmes for children, young people, and adults. Our core purpose is to use sport as an engagement and intervention tool to improve wellbeing, confidence, social connection, and positive life outcomes within the communities we serve. We deliver structured activities including boxing, gymnastics, and wider physical-activity programmes designed to support personal development, reduce barriers to participation, and offer safe, supportive environments for those who may be disadvantaged, at risk of exclusion, or otherwise underserved. Any surplus generated is reinvested directly into expanding community sessions, subsidising participation for those unable to pay, improving facilities, and strengthening our outreach and intervention work. No profits or assets are distributed to members or directors. Our activities are designed to benefit the community by increasing access to sport, promoting healthier lifestyles, supporting early-intervention pathways, and creating positive, inclusive spaces where individuals can develop skills, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our key stakeholders include: - Participants and their families, particularly children, young people, and adults who engage in our boxing, gymnastics, and wider sport-based intervention programmes. - Local schools, youth services, and community partners who refer individuals to our activities or collaborate on early-intervention pathways. - Local authorities, funders, and charitable partners who support our community programmes and rely on evidence of impact. - Coaches, volunteers, and session leaders who deliver activities and maintain safe, inclusive environments. - The wider community, including residents who benefit from increased access to positive, affordable sport-based opportunities. We consult stakeholders through a combination of: - Regular participant and parent feedback, gathered through short surveys, informal conversations at sessions, and structured review points for those on intervention pathways. - Partner and referrer discussions, including meetings with schools, youth workers, and community organisations to understand emerging needs and barriers to participation. - Coach and volunteer debriefs, where staff share observations on engagement, safeguarding considerations, and programme improvements. - Open community engagement, including taster days, outreach events, and conversations with local residents about gaps in provision. Actions taken in response to consultation include: - Adjusting session times and formats to improve accessibility for families with work or school commitments. - Introducing subsidised or free places for individuals identified by partners as facing financial hardship or risk of exclusion. - Expanding targeted intervention sessions, particularly in boxing and gymnastics, where partners highlighted a need for structured, confidence-building activities for young people. - Strengthening safeguarding and wellbeing practices, following feedback from coaches and parents about the importance of consistent communication and supportive environments. - Developing new outreach programmes in response to community requests for more inclusive, low-cost physical-activity opportunities.
