Company activities and impact

PART 1 - GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY’S ACTIVITIES AND IMPACT In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. The Old Stores Studio CIC is a non profit arts organisation, located in an isolated rural village community in Somerset. We deliver an extensive creative learning programme for all ages and abilities. The organisation champions participation in the arts and promotes community cohesion through offering art, craft and creative learning and participation in an accessible, versatile and welcoming space in our studio and off site. We provide opportunities for artists, makers, creative practitioners and the local community to get together to develop and share creative skills to support wellbeing, social engagement and personal development. Our vision: To provide an accessible, inclusive, high quality art, craft and creative education programme focused on supporting mental health wellbeing, mindfulness through making meaningful links with others in the community. Our mission: To deliver a wide ranging creative programme, supporting personal and shared learning opportunities that enable participants to engage with expert led, creative practice in order to learn, develop and share skills. Our strategic objectives: To provide a well equipped, high quality art studio, venue and hub for creative learning and participation that supports social interaction and promotes health and wellbeing. Through our vision, mission and strategic objectives we will provide benefit to The local community in Evercreech and the surrounding area; particularly those who are at risk of social isolation The wider community; providing a safe, welcoming space in the village where people are exposed to good arts practices and education and feel supported and encouraged to work with others in their community to reach their creative and personal potential.

Consultation with stakeholders

PART 2 – CONSULTATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS – A “stakeholder” is any person or organisation affected by the company’s activities. Please indicate who the company’s stakeholders are; how the stakeholders have been consulted and what action has the company taken in response to feedback from its consultations. If there has been no consultation you must state ‘There has been no stakeholder consultation held’. Our directors meet regularly throughout the year to support and inform the development of the organisation. The company’s stakeholders are residents of Evercreech and the surrounding area. The directors of the company are all local and are involved in the development and running of the CIC. All of our programme is co-produced with the local community, professional and participant input and supports learners, service users and carers. It is delivered using an embedded approach of reflexive practice, led by participation and learner feedback to inform development. We are a registered learning centre, using shared values in line with Somerset Council and DfE and our own strict codes of practice and policies in line with guidelines for educational settings. All of our course participants have Individual Learning Plans and assessments so we can gain feedback, and evaluate individual learner progress and progression. We follow this approach across our programme and have a comprehensive and robust health and safety and safeguarding policy and operating practice in place and support each other to share good practice. Our programme is accessible and promotes equal opportunities in line with our up to date Equality & Diversity Strategy and Policy. We have enhanced DBS checks and have up to date health and safety, safeguarding and PREVENT training.

Directors' remuneration

PART 3 – DIRECTORS’ REMUNERATION – Please indicate below any remuneration the directors have received. Alternatively if you have provided full details in your accounts then you do not need to disclose it here but you must explain in the space below where they are found within the accounts. If no remuneration was received you must state that “no remuneration was received by the directors” below. Our Director roles are on a voluntary basis but we and other artists and educators invoice for work done for the company on a freelance basis in line with industry standardised rates of pay.
