Company activities and impact

SE London Pride places a strong emphasis on addressing the specific needs and challenges faced by disadvantaged LGBTQ+ individuals within our community. This year we connected - 650 LGBTQ+ members with other queer people in a safe and welcoming environment at our pride festival held on 1st September 2024. - Of those attendees, 75% identified as coming from the global majority, with 60% described as queer and 30% identifying as gay. -We saw a wide age range of visitors, from 1 - 70 years old, the majority of being in their 30s. - We were successful in our goal to expand our support network beyond Catford and Lewisham by reaching queer folks from other south east boroughs like Bromley and Southwark, and continued to provide a safe space for our community. - We also held a Tea Party for over 30s, engaging 15 people - A Picnic in the park, engaging 25 people

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are residents of Lewisham and Catford, as well as wider South-East London who identify as LGBTQ+. The directors of the company have lived in Lewisham or surrounding areas of London for a number of years and developed the business model for the organisation, and have the same lived experience as other residents, including identifying as LGBTQ themselves and being part of the global majority. We regularly ask attendees to fill in feedback forms follow every event, asking questions like what could we improve on, and what attendees would like more from us. We take this feedback into consideration and act on feedback by catering our events to specific people in the LGBTQ+ community.
