The Burghfield Residents CIC runs a local May Fayre and generates around 10,000 GBP in income after costs. The Fayre is popular, there is no entry charge and a large proportion of the local village attend. There is a mix of paid and free entertainment, a dog show and food and drink for purchase. Each year we distribute all the money raised to local causes based on a formal review of requests. Grants are made based on: Local benefit, the grant is supporting local activity Reputation of the grant recipient, do we have previous evidence of work they have undertaken? Clarity of use of the funds and the outcome the grant will support In September we invite groups who have received donations to an evening event, attended by the public, where they can demonstrate their community activity and we get feedback on the grant.
Our key stakeholders are local community in the Burghfield locality including the parish of Burghfield, Sulhamstead and Wokefield. We take formal feedback from groups that have been provided grants. These are reviewed and form part of the future grant and donation decision making process by the committee. We gather feedback on the May Fayre event informally. The committee members are well known in the village and recieve feedback. In addition we have an active Facebook page, Website and links to local social media. These are reviewed at an annual 'wash up' meeting. The Fayre has been running for many years and is well attended every year. In practice the main comments are the price of some of the extra events, the main Fayre being free. The formal September event where recipients of grants present their work is open to the public and the committee attend. Feedback can be provided at this time,
