Throughout the year, Art with Smiles continued to provide a variety of creative, arts-led sessions designed to enhance wellbeing, encourage self-expression, and strengthen community connections. Activities delivered included: Creative drawing and painting workshops suitable for all ages, aimed at building confidence and developing artistic skills. Mindful art sessions supporting individuals in managing stress, anxiety, and improving concentration. Music based workshops for both children and adults, promoting creativity, rhythm, and teamwork. -Family-focused art sessions bringing together parents and children to engage in shared creative experiences -Adult only sessions offering welcoming and inclusive environment for learning and relaxation, and social interaction. All sessions were delivered within the Manchester area, with continued emphasis on accessibility, inclusion and supporting individuals who may feel isolated or vulnerable. Feedback gathered through surveys and informal discussions highlighted positive outcomes, with participants reporting increased confidence, improved well being, and a stronger sense of connection. Many individuals who had not previously engaged in creative activities shared how beneficial and uplifting they found the sessions.
Stakeholders engaged during the year included workshop participants (both adults & children), parents and careers, local community organisations, and partner groups supporting service delivery. Engagement methods included: Collecting written & verbal feedback at the end of sessions to understand participant experience and identify improvements. Informal conversations with parents and carers attending family sessions to better understand their needs. Ongoing discussions with community centres and partner organisations to identify gaps in provision and opportunities for collaboration. Following Stakeholder feedback: Additional mindful art sessions were introduced in response to growing demand, particularly from adults seeking wellbeing support. The range of family-oriented activities was expanded to encourage greater participation between parents and children. Session timings and locations were reviewed and adjusted to improve accessibility, especially for working families and those reliant on public transport.
