The Shop continues to maintain a strong community focus and to provide retail services to local residents, visitors, village hall users and holidaymakers. The Shop continues to provide a wide range of locally sourced/produced everyday and speciality items and fruit and vegetables. A full range of grocery and household goods is also stocked and the policy of not stocking tobacco or alcoholic products continues. Refreshments are available with internal and external seating areas to facilitate a meeting hub for the community and visitors alike. The Shop also offers a book swap service and community notice board. It also benefits from a solar initiative for the generation of green electricity in partnership with the Village Hall. The Shop continues to have an annual party for all volunteers and their families which brings the community together and celebrates and thanks all those who have played a role in the Shop’s success. Donations continue to remain an important part of the ethos of the Shop and efforts continue to make donations where possible to benefit the wider community. The Shop continues to offer supervised experience for a number of young members of the local community who are undertaking a volunteering role as part of their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme programme.
The Company's stakeholders continue to be the local community, visitors to the village and local suppliers and food producers. Volunteers who assist in the day to day running of the shop are predominantly, although not exclusively, residents of the village or surrounding villages as are the directors. These parties together with the customers continue to be consulted to seek ideas and invited to provide feedback as to potential improvements and enhancements to the goods and services which form part of the Shop’s offering. Improvements in the form of the purchase of new equipment and facilities refurbishment are undertaken as and when required and additional improvements are made as and when resources and funding permits.
