Aim121 CIC runs Aim121Youthprojects, a community interest company with a particular emphasis on raising aspirations for young people. It began in July 2022. During the financial year 2024 to 2025, the company's activities have benefited the community in the following ways: - local families from low income households were able to access 24 away days, training, mental health support and holiday activities. - We collaborated with NHS SW London for testing of the NHS app with a youth perspective. - We also collaborated with BAME Voice to educate and conduct surveys among young people regarding climate change. - It has provided training for 4 junior youth volunteers and 4 senior youth volunteers between 16 and 25 years old. - were unable to always accommodate more than 5 children and young people accessing our service for any given time with advanced physical disability as it is important to have the right number of adults to ensure their safety. - Over 250 children and young people benefitted from our services throughout the year.
The company’s stakeholders are residents of Merton; children, young people and their families. Merton Council, Royal British Legion and Activity centres such as Surrey Outdoor learning. The directors of the company have lived in the community for a number of years and developed the business model based on their experience of talking to other residents. We consistently seek feedback from stakeholders particularly the young people. This has helped us to build up a profile of local service user's needs and what we can do to meet them more effectively. Our research has enabled us to identify that more than 500 households in Mitcham community are residents from low income households and over 100 of those are accessing our services Via our website, social media pages and Whatts app parent's group, those accessing our services and all volunteers to pick up ideas for the business.
