Short Circuit film screenings have taken place at Fabrica in Brighton showcasing the work of UK and International artists filmmakers working with experimental documentary. In parallel with screenings, filmmaker talks and networking events have encouraged dialogue between local film makers and engagement with the local community.
Film event audiences have come from a diverse range of backgrounds and ages. Consultation in the form of surveys at the end after each event which impacts on programming and theme choices, feedback has informed how we curate and market events Filmmakers provide feedback via the online film submission platform, FilmFreeway and younger filmmaker through direct messaging on social media. Filmmakers in attendance offer venue and technical feedback as well as curatorial choices. Partner venue Consultation has been in the form of a debrief meeting after the screenings with our current partner venue Fabrica Brighton. The debrief improves the planning and strategies for attract new audiences with each event and expanding screenings into the community.
