Eden Health Support CIC is a community interest organisation that provides health and wellbeing education and support to communities, particularly individuals from African and Caribbean backgrounds in the United Kingdom. During the financial year, the company actively engaged in delivering community-based health promotion activities aimed at reducing the prevalence of common long-term health conditions such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and arthritis and other preventable health issues. The organisation carried out a range of activities, including organising educational health workshops within local and faith-based community groups to promote awareness and prevention of common illnesses. These sessions focused on improving understanding of nutrition, lifestyle choices and disease prevention. Eden Health Support CIC also provided one-to-one health advice and support to individuals, offering personalised guidance to help manage existing health conditions and adopt healthier behaviours. In addition, the organisation delivered practical healthy cooking sessions through community kitchen programmes, enabling participants to freely learn how to prepare nutritious, culturally appropriate meals that support long-term health. Community health events were also organised, bringing together healthcare professionals and members of the community to share knowledge, provide health advice and encourage engagement with preventative health services. Furthermore, physical activity sessions were delivered to support both physical health and mental wellbeing, encouraging participants to adopt more active lifestyles. These activities have contributed to improving health awareness, empowering individuals to make informed lifestyle choices and supporting the prevention and management of long-term health conditions. As a result, the organisation has contributed to addressing health inequalities within underserved communities and reducing the potential long-term burden on NHS services.
The company's stakeholders include members of the local African and Caribbean community, attending health workshops and programmes, local community and faith-based organisations, and the director, Bolajoko Ajoke Ajewole. Stakeholders have been consulted through direct engagement during health talks, workshops, community events and one-to-one support sessions. Feedback has also been gathered through informal discussions with participants following activities. Overall, feedback from stakeholders has been positive. Participants reported increased awareness of healthy lifestyle practices, including improved understanding of nutrition, physical activity and the prevention of long-term conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Many participants found the sessions engaging, culturally relevant and beneficial to their wellbeing, particularly appreciating the practical elements such as cooking demonstrations and group discussions. Stakeholders also suggested further enhancing the sessions by inviting a wider range of health professionals and guest speakers to deliver expert-led talks on specific health topics. This was viewed as a valuable way to deepen knowledge, increase trust and provide more specialised guidance. In response to this feedback, Eden Health Support CIC aims to incorporate more expert-led sessions into its programmes, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to further strengthen the the quality and impact of its services.
The director received remuneration during the financial year for services provided in their role as Project Director. This included the management, coordination, and delivery of the organisation's community health initiatives. Full details of the remuneration are disclosed within the company's financial accounts. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for loss of office, which require disclosure.
