In August 2024, Changania was formed to become a community cafe serving as a safe space for LGBTQ+ communities of colour Over the first year, we have held 5 consultations, either by running stalls at events or hosting pop-up shops run by our volunteers, to give an idea of what it might feel like to step into Changania The pop-up has proven successful with us engaging with 300 people in conversation and gathering feedback on how to best shape the cafe The next phase of our work is to apply for grant funding to support regular pop cafes in the community halls or spaces across Northamptonshire. We plan to hold dedicated wellbeing sessions for people to register for and simultaneously run a cafe space. We will be exploring other fundraising options, including crowdfunding and collective organising to make our work as democratic and co produces as possible
No consultation with stakeholders
