This year, we delivered free creative workshops for our local community, including botanical printmaking, mindfulness drawing, building bug homes and running a monthly gardening club. These sessions brought together residents of varying ages and backgrounds, including those experiencing social isolation and low wellbeing, offering opportunities to build friendships, develop skills and engage in activities that support wellbeing. Feedback from participants highlighted increased confidence, a sense of belonging and enjoyment in learning new things. At the end of the summer, we took over stewardship of a local community allotment, where we now run regular open sessions on Sundays. Alongside this, we have hosted free seasonal events for both allotment users and the wider public, including sustainable pumpkin carving and a winter warmer gathering. We've seen community connection and outdoor engagement, plus encouraged environmentally conscious practices at free and paid workshops. Across all of our work, we prioritise creating safe and welcoming spaces where individuals feel comfortable to participate at their own pace. We will be able to continue to provide these spaces due to funds and grants received.
