Independent You CIC is a SEND-focused community interest company based in Tower Hamlets. During the year ended 28 February 2026, the company delivered practical independence building support for children, young people and young adults, primarily aged 5 to 25. The company's activities focused on improving life skills, confidence and safe participation in community life for individuals who require additional support to access everyday activities. Independent You CIC operated a structured SEND youth provision model which provided a safe space for social development and peer interaction while offering respite support to families. Activities were designed to promote communication, confidence and gradual leadership opportunities where appropriate. Across all services, Independent You CIC operated in a person-centred and safeguarding-led manner. The company's work benefited the community by increasing independence outcomes for SEND young people, reducing isolation, supporting families and strengthening preparation for education, training and adult life.
Independent You CIC consulted with stakeholders throughout the year to ensure services remained responsive and appropriate. Stakeholders included participating children and young people, parents and carers, and community partners. Feedback was gathered through regular communication, informal consultation during sessions and reflection at the end of delivery blocks. Feedback identified the importance of gradual independence planning, anxiety-aware support in public spaces and flexible learning approaches tailored to SEND needs. As a result, the company strengthened its step-by-step progression planning within travel training and community access sessions and increased focus on emotional regulation strategies and structured preparation before real-world exposure. Independent You CIC continues to use stakeholder feedback to refine delivery and ensure ongoing community benefit.
