for the Period Ended 31 October 2025

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases: Plant & Machinery 25% reducing balance Fixtures & Fittings 25% reducing balance

    Other accounting policies

Sale of goods Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods has transferred to the buyer. This is usually at the point that the customer has signed for the delivery of the goods. Rendering of services Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs. Turnover is only recognised to the extent of recoverable expenses when the outcome of a contract cannot be estimated reliably.

Company activities and impact

Kintyre Weigh in Campbeltown is a zero waste/refill shop. We are a Social enterprise. Shop sells foodstuffs and household products by weight with customers bringing their own containers (although we also provide donated containers/paper bags and some re-useable containers for sale if preferred). We stock a range of plastic free-re-useable products. We operate on a volunteer basis with 2 members of staff funded through an employability programme.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are residents of Kintyre and visitors to the area. Due to declining sales and the cost of running the shop the decision was made to close the shop at the end of September. remaining stock was sold at a discounted rate and fixtures/fittings and some stock were donated to a local food bank and to a new zero waste shop in Stirling.

Directors' remuneration

No remuneration was received

Transfer of assets

The final balance after all aged payables were cleared was donated to local charity Inspiralba as per our Memorandum and Articles of Association (£2,983).
