1.	General information

Hickson W.A. Chemicals Limited is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England and Wales, registered number 02225127. Its registered office is Hexagon Tower Crumpsall Vale, Blackley, Manchester, M9 8GQ.

The financial statements are rounded to the nearest thousand pound sterling.

The significant accounting policies applied in the presentation of these financial statements are set out below.

Basis of preparation of financial statements

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention unless otherwise specified within these accounting policies and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and the Companies Act 2006.

The preparation of financial statements in compliance with FRS 102 requires the use of certain critical accounting estimates. It also requires management to exercise judgment in applying the Company's accounting policies.

5.	Controlling party

The Company's immediate parent undertaking is Arch Timber Protection Limited which is registered in United Kingdom. Copies of its financial statements are available from Hexagon Tower Crumpsall Vale, Blackley, Manchester, M9 8GQ.

The smallest and largest group to consolidate the Company's financial statements is Herens Midco S.à.r.l.. Copies of Herens Midco S.à.r.l.'s consolidated financial statements can be obtained from 4, rue Albert Borschette, Luxembourg, L-1246, Luxembourg.

At the reporting date, the ultimate parent undertakings are Bain Capital Private Equity LP and Cinven Capital Management Limited, which are both incorporated in Luxembourg and have their principal office
in Luxembourg.
