Statement / objectives: 1. Make sure green spaces in the Derringham Ward are used for the long-term benefit of the residents and community, e.g. through holding community engagement, education & social events such as walks, talks, treasure hunts & fun days/fairs 2. Work with HCC & related organisations to connect green spaces so that no resident or visitor within the ward is further than 1 mile from a well-managed local green space, e.g. by taking part in community tree & hedge planting, litter picking etc. 3. Work in partnership with other organisations to foster greater local awareness and ownership of community green spaces within the ward e.g. by attending & displaying our publicity stand at local nature & well-being fairs & being active members of regional environmental forums 4. Find ways to attract younger visitors to the ward's green spaces, including exploring the potential for hosting entertainment events for a variety of ages, e.g. through holding fairs, treasure hunts, nature trails & pop-up animal visits during weekends and school holidays 5. Record and monitor the effectiveness of community engagement and participation e.g. through collecting visitor opinion & feedback, maintaining active social media accounts, tracking online data
