Sandwell Flyers is a not for profit community sports club based in Wednesbury, offering structured Gymnastics, Trampoline, Tumbling, and Pre-School classes for children and adults of all ages and abilities. We provide access to a fully equipped gymnastics academy with a broad timetable of classes suitable for all age groups and skill levels. Our programme includes over 125 children in competitive squads, with an additional 80 developing at advanced and pre squad groups. Sandwell Flyers athletes have achieved many medals at both regional and national competitions. We currently have five members representing Great Britain or home nation squads across all three disciplines: DMT, Trampoline, with two members attending a home nations squad trial for tumbling. In winter 2025, we hosted a tumbling and a trampoline event for our members, with over 100 children from the club taking part. The event was also open to other clubs, promoting wider community involvement. The club supports local businesses, as many parents use nearby supermarkets, shops, or restaurants while their children attend classes. Any financial surplus is reinvested into the club to improve the academy, whether by purchasing new equipment, training staff and volunteers, or expanding opportunities for our members. Over the past year, we have delivered Gymnastics and Trampoline sessions to more than 500 participants, from pre-schoolers to adults. Our academy continues to offer a full programme including Gymnastics, Trampolining, Preschool, and Tumbling.
We receive positive feedback from parents of children who attend the academy via social media or the website, who find sessions well equipped, engaging and fun, they find the communication from children’s coaches beneficial. We have a 4+ star ranking on google with feedback from our parents and gymnasts. We had 4 members selected for the GB Trampoline and DMT squad and home nation programme in 2025 and they have secured a place on the programmes. All members will go on to represent England at international events in 2026. This allows for great network opportunities and feedback received from these sessions. We have had 14 Gymnasts selected for the West Midlands Tumbling Squad in 2025, and 23 children qualify across the three disciplines to national finals. Where we were able to form great links with other clubs and coaches, feedback was incredibly positive about the squad and competition. Sandwell Flyers is the Tumbling West Midlands Secretary and we are active members on the Tumbling and the Trampoline West Midlands Committees, helping where necessary to keep this sport going within the region
