The year to 30 April 2026 has continued to be one of fruitful development. As noted in the previous year’s CIC 34, the oral history Red Heaven Podcast had by 30 April 2025 released 66 audio oral history interviews, As of 30 April 2026 83 have gone public, meaning that 27 episodes have been released within the period covered by this report. On this podcast about utopianism in Victorian and Edwardian Britain, the range continues to be developed. Between 2025 and 2026 a number have been recorded at museums and art galleries. The performing arts aspect of Separate Star has also developed with a further revue featuring songs from the Great American Songbook, together with associated poems, being put on in March 2026. All 24 videocast interviews in the Extra Ecclesiam series of interviews about social engagement between the Church and wider society remain available online. A third, unreleased series of audio oral history interviews called Clergy Kids, Sibling Stories continues in development.
Currently the company’s stakeholders are the guests from the different series of oral history interviews, and the numbers increase as the number of episodes increases. Conducting interviews about art galleries or museums has been helpful in building up an audience that includes the Friends of these organisations. Our interviews are conducted under the strict ethical guidelines of the Oral History Society, It is gratifying to note that relationships with past guest interviewees are leading to further introductions and an informal community is building up. We are in regular contact with the interviewees to explore how the interviews themselves can best be made available to the general public on a free-to-access basis. Some earlier guests have been invited back on to the podcast. It is possible to look forward confidently to the 2026-27 CIC 34 year as contacts in the community arts and education sectors continue to be made, playwriting is continuing, and the circle of influence of Separate Star is broadening.
