*Tropical Pressure festival (July) - We ran a community workshop ("Making a New Wood Symphony - Feat. the Great Zucchini") and provided live music for two wonderful Yezidi-inspired dance events with One and All Aid and Tros an Treys. This was to contribute to the Movements Area of the festival. *Gorsedh Award (June) We received notice of an award for our work at Symphony Woods with Coads Green primary school. *Altarnun Community Day - We provided the live music for this event, meeting lots of people and making plans for future involvement *Steeple Woodland open day (June) We provided the live music for this lovely event on the outskirts of St.Ives *Nancledra Centenary (June) - After a couple of school rehearsals, we played the tune "Nancledra" for pupils to dance to at their centenary event *May Day and Mayor's Choosing (May) - We led Bagas an Norvys at the head of civic processions during these two events in the St.Ives calendar *St.Ives Community Orchard/Penbeagle Nature Reserve (May) - we provided the live music for the official opening event for the nature reserve and at the Orchard's Beltane celebrations *Earth Day, St.Just (May) - We hosted a join-in music set in the Plen an Gwarry, with help from some off-duty St.Just Primary School pupils *Evelyn - Porthmeor Theatre (April) We composed and produced the music "This Shadow") for this ongoing production, now available for streaming under our band name Dreckly Unchained *CORE Studio Sessions - (Feb/March) We're providing open-ended, have a go music sessions for West Cornwall teenagers from Jan to March at the Orchard's new CORE building. *Feast Day (Feb) - We led the processional band on behalf of St.Ives Town Council, before performing a few tunes at St.Ia Church, the Western Hotel and St.Ives Library. *St.Ives Community Foodshare (Jan) - We continued our support for this vital local project by playing at the new year communal meal at St.Johns in the Fields church on 11th January *Street music (NYE) - We played cello and drum on the streets of St.Ives before heading into the Tretho Lounge as part of a New Year drumming session 2024 *Christmas fundraising - We played at St.Ia church on 9th Dec, raising £160 for the brilliant St.Ives Community Foodshare group and £79 playing outside the One and All Aid shop in Penzance to support our friends who run this amazing charity. We also played for the lighting of the Christmas lights in Treneere, Penzance. *St.Ives September Festival - We hosted several events this year - Sea Junk Jam, Full Moon Drumming, Songs from the Core and Songs of St.Ia, plus our join-in global music sessions at the Kettle and Wink
Schools - Nancledra and St Uny primary schools, St.Ives; Atarnun and Coads Green Primary Schools Launceston Local community groups - St.Ives Community Orchard CIC, Whole Again Communities CIC, St.Ives Community Foodshare Local festival committees - St.Ives Feast Day, Mayday and September Festival, St.Just Earth Day St Ives Town Council - meetings with Town Clerk regarding music provision at civic events Tropical Pressure Festival - conversations with numerous organisations, performers and participants as part of the community-themed “Movements" area In each instance our workshops / activities have been requested by the stakeholders and opportunities were taken to discuss on-going directions for activities. We discuss these at the Global Jamming AGMs and after events always take feedback for improvement of our provision on future occasions.
