Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of Daten Football Academy CIC is the provision of not-for-profit grassroots football opportunities for the local community. The company operates an inclusive football academy supporting multiple teams ranging from under-10s to over-45s, providing organised training sessions, matches, and development opportunities for players of all abilities. The company is focused on promoting participation in sport, community engagement, and personal development through football. All coaching is delivered by volunteer coaches, and the organisation also manages and maintains its own playing facilities and pitches to ensure safe and accessible use for all members.   • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover represents income received from football membership fees, match fees, and other related community football activities. It is recognised in the period in which the services are provided and the income is earned. Grants and funding received to support the company’s activities are included separately within other operating income where applicable. All turnover is reinvested into the company’s activities in line with its not-for-profit objectives.

    Other accounting policies

    The accounts are prepared on the historical cost basis. Income is recognised when received or earned from football-related activities, including membership fees, match fees, and other community football income. Grants and funding are recognised as income where applicable to support the company’s activities. Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost or estimated value and are used to support the company’s long-term activities. The company does not apply depreciation to fixed assets in these accounts. All income and expenditure is recorded on an accruals basis where appropriate, and the financial statements are prepared to show a true and fair view of the company’s financial position.
