During the financial year, The Growing Flowers of Belfast – Together project delivered activities promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and community cohesion across Belfast. The project primarily supported women from Sudanese backgrounds and those from diverse cultures and religions. Four orientation workshops were delivered, engaging 80 participants in topics such as safeguarding, bereavement support, and cultural understanding. These sessions encouraged learning, connection, and cross-cultural awareness. Health and wellbeing activities reached 62 participants through healthcare access, nutrition, and fitness sessions. These contributed to improved physical health, reduced isolation, and stronger social connections. A Level 1 Accredited Food and Hygiene Training programme attracted 59 applicants. 40 participants completed the training, with 18 remaining on a waiting list due to high demand. Three wellbeing workshops supported 51 participants through safe spaces for sharing and resilience building. A Cultural Day in June 2025 brought together 250 attendees, celebrating diversity through performances and food. The event strengthened community unity and a sense of belonging. Partnership working enabled wider reach and effective engagement across communities. The project significantly reduced isolation and improved mental and physical wellbeing. It empowered women facing social and personal challenges to engage more actively in their community. Overall, the project contributed to building a more inclusive, connected, and resilient community.
