Company activities and impact

During this financial year, Arctic Building Communities CIC has continued to strengthen its role as a community-focused organisation dedicated to improving wellbeing, promoting skills development, and creating positive opportunities for local residents across Walsall. Arctic has helped over 500 people from benefitting from our volunteer and other programs Through a combination of funded initiatives, collaborative projects, and inclusive community engagement, we have delivered activities that have made a direct and measurable impact on the lives of individuals and families. 1. Warm Walsall Initiative A major highlight of this year was our successful delivery of the Warm Walsall project, funded through local Warm Space support. This initiative provided a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents during the colder months, offering: A warm and comfortable space to gather and connect. Access to refreshments and hot drinks. Signposting to local services and community resources. Social activities aimed at reducing loneliness and isolation. The project supported individuals and families struggling with the cost of living and energy challenges, ensuring that no one felt left behind during winter. Feedback from attendees highlighted increased community connection, improved wellbeing, and appreciation for a consistent, friendly space to visit each week. 2. Skills, Creativity, and Digital Learning We expanded our digital and creative learning opportunities, introducing engaging workshops that included 3D printing, coding, and digital design. These sessions helped participants particularly young people and those not in formal education develop new skills, grow in confidence, and explore pathways into technology and innovation. Our focus on hands-on learning continues to inspire curiosity, build employability, and empower participants to see themselves as creators rather than consumers of technology. 3. Sports and Wellbeing Activities Our community sports and wellbeing sessions have encouraged healthier lifestyles, teamwork, and social inclusion among young people and families. These activities promote both physical and mental wellbeing, helping participants to build confidence, resilience, and positive habits that last beyond the sessions. 4. Collaboration and Community Partnerships We have worked closely with a range of local partners including churches, community organisations, and local authorities to deliver joint events, share resources, and create wider access to opportunities. Our collaborative approach ensures that every project delivers greater value and reaches those most in need of support. 5. Economic and Social Value By employing local facilitators, working with small suppliers, and reinvesting surplus funds into future community initiatives, Arctic Building Communities CIC continues to circulate value within the local economy. Our projects have generated volunteering opportunities, developed skills, and fostered stronger community networks that will continue to grow in the coming year. Summary Throughout this financial year, Arctic Building Communities CIC has: Supported residents through the Warm Walsall initiative. Delivered creative, digital, and educational workshops for young people. Promoted health, fitness, and wellbeing through community activities. Strengthened partnerships with local organisations to widen impact. Created spaces for connection, learning, and empowerment. Together, these efforts have contributed to a more resilient, connected, and inspired Walsall community.
