Principal activities of the company

The objects of the Company are to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular underserved community by providing educational programmes, mentorship and resources. Without limitation the company will organise workshops and networking events aimed at improving health and education literacy, and enhancing skills and personal development. The company will collaborate with local organisations in furtherance of these aims

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Other accounting policies

    Income is recognised when the company becomes entitled to the income, it is probable that the income will be received, and the amount can be measured reliably. Grant income relating to specific projects is recognised in line with the conditions of the funding agreements. Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis. The company had no tangible fixed assets during the year Unrestricted funds are in deficit due to timing differences in funding and reliance on director support during the period.

Company activities and impact

The company delivered grant-funded activities aimed at benefiting underserved and ethically diverse communities accross Kent, with a particular focus on addressing and reducing health inequalities and improving access to information, engagement and support thereby improving life outcomes. Funding and organisational resources were used to develop and coordinate monthly outreach projects and the flagship programme; The Kent and Medway Black Health Inequalities Summit (ThriveKent) alongside community engagement initiatives, partnership development, and awareness-raising activities. These activities resulted in increased community engagement, strengthened partnership between local organisations and stakeholders, improved awareness of health inequalities, and the creation of a platform for ongoing dialogue, collaboration and community-led solutions, supporting the company's the company’s community interest objectives.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company engaged with beneficiaries, funders, community leaders and delivery partners through planning meetings, partnership discussions, and informal community engagement. This included collaboration with local organisations, academic institutions, and public health stakeholders to shape the development of the Kent and Medway Black Health Inequalities Summit and related activities. Feedback gathered through these engagements helped inform programme design, ensure relevance to community needs, and guide future development and funding applications to sustain and expand the organisation’s impact.
