During this period, our organisation has focused on supporting young people classified as NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training). Our work has centred on therapeutic approaches, recognising that many of the young people we support are experiencing trauma-related challenges and barriers to engagement. In addition, we have provided ongoing support to young people identified as having SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), ensuring that activities and interventions are inclusive and responsive to individual needs in supporting them into education or employment opportunities. Overall, we have supported 12 young people throughout the year. During this period, we have also established new professional relationships with Local Authority Education and SEND departments, helping to strengthen collaborative working opportunities. Furthermore, we are embarking on a new programme in partnership with Connexions to support young people through wellbeing-focused activities, including walking groups, sports training, and arts-based sessions aimed at improving confidence, engagement, and overall wellbeing.
Feedback from the young people we have supported has been overwhelmingly positive. Many reported feeling valued, respected, and genuinely supported by our approach and service delivery. The majority of participants also reported increased self-esteem, improved confidence, and a greater sense of direction regarding their future aspirations, life choices, and personal development.
