COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

INNOVATOIRE CIC

Company Number: 15870323 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2025

Company activities and impact

During this period, Innovatoire CIC focused on building civic impact through creative and cultural programmes that brought together young people, community organisations, and public institutions. Our flagship activity was a community podcast and civic engagement programme, delivered in partnership with the police, which brought together young people from difficult and disadvantaged backgrounds. The programme created a structured space for young people to learn practical podcasting skills while participating as active citizens: opening a meaningful dialogue between young people and the police. We delivered the ListenUp programme in partnership with the Creative City Network, and a community programme in partnership with Coventry City Council. Through this work, Innovatoire CIC has been formally invited to become part of the broader culture and community infrastructure of the Midlands region, as part of the Coventry Council-led cultural community network. We provided in-kind support to the Coventry Music Service through our involvement with the SoundLab programme, contributing time and expertise to support music education for young people. We also ran a community logo design competition, awarding prizes to student participants in recognition of their creative contribution. Beneficiaries include young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, community members across Coventry and the wider West Midlands, partner organisations in the public and voluntary sectors, and the broader cultural community of the region.

Consultation with stakeholders

Yes. Innovatoire CIC has maintained active and ongoing dialogue with its stakeholders throughout this period. Our key stakeholders include young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, Coventry City Council, the Coventry Music Service, the Creative City Network, the Charles Barratt Foundation, and the Coventry and Warwickshire Youth Programme. Consultation has taken the following forms: Coventry City Council: We participated in regular meetings with the Council to help shape the direction of cultural and community outreach in the region. These conversations allowed us to feed in the perspectives of the young people and communities we work with, and to align our programming with wider civic priorities. In response, we adjusted our programme focus to reflect the Council's strategic priorities around civic engagement and cultural participation, and we have since been invited to form part of the Coventry Council-led cultural community network for the Midlands region. Coventry Music Service: We engaged in joint meetings with the Music Service and Coventry City Council, contributing to conversations about music education provision and community access to creative learning. In response we provided in-kind support to the SoundLab programme, directly contributing time and expertise to music education for young people. Charles Barratt Foundation: We entered into discussions with the Foundation with the aim of offering free education opportunities to young people from Coventry. This partnership remains in active development and represents a significant future direction for the company. Coventry and Warwickshire Youth Programme: We provided in-kind support to this programme, engaging directly with the needs of young people in the region. In response to this engagement we intend to formalise and extend this partnership through a future Arts Council England application. The majority of our consultation and partnership activity during this period has been delivered on an in-kind basis. It is our ambition to develop these relationships into funded partnerships in future periods.
