SYP Confidence CIC was incorporated in June 2021 as a community interest company building confidence in children and young people through Music, Movement and Wellbeing. During the financial year 2024-2025, the company's activities have benefited the community in the following ways: the company developed and built sypccic.org, the digital infrastructure that will enable the launch of its flagship programme, Find Your Voice the company maintained its corporate governance and statutory filings, preserving the registered community vehicle for the Croydon area the company designed and finalised the Find Your Voice programme model, a confidence intervention delivered through three pillars of Music, Movement and Wellbeing across four routes: online classes UK-wide, in-person Croydon sessions, children's residential homes outreach, and a fully funded bursary route for families who cannot afford to pay the founding director personally funded set-up costs so that future grant income can be reserved entirely for frontline delivery rather than infrastructure the company engaged with prospective partner schools, SENCOs, and community contacts in Croydon to prepare for delivery commencing in 2025-2026
During the financial year 2024-2025, SYP Confidence CIC was in its set-up phase and formal structured stakeholder consultation was therefore limited. The founding director engaged in informal discussions during the year to prepare for delivery commencing in 2025-2026. Stakeholder engagement during this period included: informal conversations with prospective partner schools in Croydon, including SENCOs and pastoral leads, to understand the needs of young people the company plans to support informal discussions with community contacts and potential referrers about local need and referral pathways exchanges with other CIC operators in the South London area for governance, operational, and safeguarding learning review of published consultation findings from comparable youth confidence and SEN-focused organisations to inform programme design early discussions with a Croydon councillor about potential community venue partnerships, including the Mayfield Centre in Thornton Heath Formal structured stakeholder consultation, including with young people, parents and carers, partner referrers, and funders, will commence in the 2025-2026 financial year as the company moves from set-up to active delivery. The next CIC34 report will reflect this consultation in detail.
