Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 August 2025

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for goods supplied and services rendered, net of discounts and Value Added Tax. Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to the buyer (usually on despatch of the goods); the amount of revenue can be measured reliably; it is probable that the associated economic benefits will flow to the entity; and the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect of the transactions can be measured reliably.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible assets are initially recorded at cost, and subsequently stated at cost less any accumulated depreciation and impairment losses. Any tangible assets carried at revalued amounts are recorded at the fair value at the date of revaluation less any subsequent accumulated depreciation and subsequent accumulated impairment losses. An increase in the carrying amount of an asset as a result of a revaluation, is recognised in other comprehensive income and accumulated in equity, except to the extent it reverses a revaluation decrease of the same asset previously recognised in profit or loss. A decrease in the carrying amount of an asset as a result of revaluation, is recognised in other comprehensive income to the extent of any previously recognised revaluation increase accumulated in equity in respect of that asset. Where a revaluation decrease exceeds the accumulated revaluation gains accumulated in equity in respect of that asset, the excess shall be recognised in profit or loss. Depreciation is calculated so as to write off the cost or valuation of an asset, less its residual value, over the useful economic life of that asset as follows: Equipment-25% reducing balance

Company activities and impact

During this period, Strong Girl Squad CIC built on its previous successes by continuing to run and improve our award-winning Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF). We were once again able to offer 24 days of programming and provided 576 funded club spaces for girls in receipt of Free School Meals. In September of 2024, we liaised with a local women’s shelter to arrange for our extra clothing donations to be given to them. We were able to provide 7 large bags of gently loved clothing and shoes to this facility. In December of 2024, our founder Kristen Ingraham-Morgan was nominated by girls fron the project for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero Award, and won the Lincolnshire regional award. This led to a wave of publicity for the project, with participants appearing on BBC Look North and BBC Radio Lincolnshire. The project was even featured on national news and radio outlets. This led to an increase in donations of clothing and toiletries that we were able to redistribute to our participants. Throughout this period, we have continued to run our Strong Girl Squad Academy Programme, and worked with girls from St Peter and St Paul School, and Lincoln UTC. Our participants continue to thrive both at the club, and outside of it. During this period, 4 of our participants joined the regular classes at LN CrossFit, and two of them even brought their mums.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our Junior Advisory Board continues to operate, and during this period had 7 regular members. These girls were consulted on issues of programming, menu choices, and continued to assist with keeping the Studio tidy and sorting donations.
