  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. Turnover is measured at the fair value of consideration received or receivable, net of VAT, discounts and other taxes. Revenue is recognised when goods are delivered or services are performed; for services, stage of completion is used.

    Valuation information and policy

    Assets and liabilities are valued at cost or net realisable value, whichever is lower. Fixed assets are stated at cost less depreciation.

    Other accounting policies

    The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention in £ sterling

Company activities and impact

The company’s activities provided benefit to children and groups interested in cultural education by promoting language learning and cultural awareness within the community. During the financial year, the company supported educational and cultural activities including the teaching of mother tongue languages, music, drama and related arts, helping children develop confidence, cultural understanding and pride in their heritage. The company also encouraged inclusivity, intercultural dialogue and appreciation of diverse cultural traditions by creating opportunities for children and families from different backgrounds to participate in community-based learning and cultural events.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company consulted with stakeholders including parents, children, volunteers, community members and participants involved in its educational and cultural activities. Feedback was obtained through discussions, community engagement and participation in events and programmes. The feedback received helped the company to improve its activities, develop culturally inclusive programmes and better meet the educational and cultural needs of children and families within the community.
