Exhale.Group CIC is a non-profit organisation supporting LGBT+ black people and people of colour (BPoC) in Glasgow, and Scotland to thrive by providing free social spaces, wellbeing workshops and support. We also support the community to thrive by providing training and consultancy services to external organisations looking to improve their work to be more inclusive of LGBT+ and racialised communities. In the financial year December 2024 - 2025, we continued delivery of ‘A Third Place’ which provided a programme of regular free events with a hot meal included (monthly until July 2025). We also began delivery of ‘For Us, By Us’, a nine-month project running from September 2025 - April 2026. The project worked with six LGBT+ BPoC individuals in Glasgow, who were interested in community development and facilitation, by providing them with training and support to co-create and deliver a programme of free events for the wider community, running from January - April 2026. This project built skills and confidence in facilitation, leadership and event and project planning in the cohort, and facilitated access to peer support and community connection. One off events such as for Black History Month and the festive period in December were also held. Through these activities, we engaged with over 140 members of the community throughout the financial year. Feedback concluded that our work supported LGBT+ BPoC individuals to make friends, feel less isolated, access support, develop confidence and to try new things. We also worked with various partners on collaborative events, such as a film screening and workshop for Take One Action’s ‘Real Utopias’ Film Festival, and learning workshops, such as a workshop on ‘intersectional stigma’ in mental health for See Me’s annual conference - Shifting the Dial: Scotland’s Conference on Mental Health Stigma and Discrimination. Such partnerships supported the inclusion of diverse perspectives and partner engagement with more diverse communities.
Our stakeholders include community members (people identifying as LGBT+ people of colour), local collaborators, partnership organisations and our customers (organisations seeking training and consultancy). We consult with stakeholders regularly by collecting feedback forms and creating opportunities for open dialogue on our work, to have honest and constructive discussions about what our stakeholders need, and what we provide. Feedback we have received reveals a strong desire for Exhale's work to continue, as a vital space for LGBT+ people of colour to connect and receive support. Our community stakeholders have stated that our spaces act as "a haven" and have "helped Glasgow feel like home". Our partner and customer stakeholders appreciate our commitment to inclusivity, and feel that our support has allowed their work to expand. We continually learn and adapt our approach from the feedback we receive, and use this to inform our work.
The directors received a total of £ 8,748 in remuneration for services delivered.
