Overview OT Consult is a community-focused organization dedicated to empowering immigrant communities in Barking and Dagenham and Haringey through accessible legal education and guidance on UK immigration law. The organization aims to provide educational workshops, free/low-cost legal consultations, and robust outreach, supported by partnerships with local councils, legal firms, and community organizations. Activities Planned for the Year Educational Workshops: Regular, multilingual sessions covering UK immigration rules, rights, responsibilities, and pathways to regularization. Legal Consultations: Free or low-cost one-on-one consultations with qualified lawyers, including triage and next-step planning. Community Outreach: Engagement with local communities through events, resource fairs, and collaboration with cultural and faith groups. Resource Development: Creation and distribution of multilingual informational materials (brochures, online guides) explaining immigration procedures. Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking reach, engagement, and outcomes to refine services and demonstrate impact. Community Benefits Intended Increased Legal Awareness: Greater understanding of immigration rights and obligations among community members. Access to Reliable Resources: Direct connection to qualified legal professionals to reduce the risk of misinformation. Enhanced Integration and Stability: Support for lawful residency facilitating access to essential services and opportunities. Empowerment Through Education: Equipping residents with knowledge to make informed legal decisions. Strengthened Partnerships: Collaboration with local authorities and organizations to coordinate support services. Impact Statement for the Year Under Review Regrettably, due to funding shortfalls, OT Consult was unable to carry out planned community activities during the financial year. The absence of on-the-ground activities temporarily limited direct engagement with community members and the rollout of education and consultation services. Despite the pause in activities, the year provided an opportunity to: Review and refine program design, materials, and multilingual resources. Strengthen partnerships and prepare for scalable delivery once funding is secured. Develop a risk management and sustainability plan to improve resilience against funding fluctuations.
Stakeholders identified Local councils (Barking and Dagenham, Haringey) and other public sector bodies Community leaders and representative groups within immigrant communities Partnering law firms and qualified legal practitioners Community-based organizations and faith groups Volunteers and prospective volunteers Potential funders and grant-making bodies Beneficiaries: immigrants and families in Barking and Dagenham and Haringey Consultation activity during the year There was no operational activity or direct stakeholder consultation conducted in the financial year due to funding shortfalls. A preparatory phase was undertaken to identify stakeholders, establish potential engagement channels, and plan for future consultations once funding is secured. Feedback received and actions taken There has been no stakeholder feedback collected this year because no outreach events or consultations occurred. In anticipation of a future relaunch, the organization has: Documented stakeholder interests and needs to inform future program design. Identified priority engagement channels (community events, online forums, multilingual information hubs) for when activities resume. Begun drafting a stakeholder communication plan to ensure timely, transparent updates to partners and funders. Plan for incorporating stakeholder input (post-funding) Organize co-design workshops with community representatives to tailor workshops and materials to multilingual needs. Establish a formal feedback loop after each consultation or workshop (surveys, quick interviews, suggestion boxes). Create a governance mechanism for stakeholder advisory input to inform service delivery, risk management, and sustainability planning
