Year Ending: 31 December 2025

Company activities and impact

In the financial year ending 31 December 2025 Real Food Ilkley CIC organised twelve Fine Food & Local Produce Markets in Ilkley as well as Yorkshire Day market. The markets were well attended by residents of and visitors to Ilkley and feedback was extremely positive. Customers benefited from being able to meet the producers and sellers and have monthly access to a wide range of food and drink as well as art, crafts and other artisan goods, produced locally and on a small scale. The market exists to support small and local producers and makers, currently there are between 40 and 55 stalls at each market, all small businesses from Yorkshire. In addition, stalls are provided to Ilkley businesses (through the local BID) and to community and charity groups on a pro bono basis, over 15 local community groups/charities benefited by having a free stall to raise awareness, funds and recruit volunteers in Ilkley during the period. Real Food Ilkley CIC worked closely with other local organisations such as Ilkley Town Council, Bradford Council, Dementia Friendly Ilkley and Ilkley BID for the benefit of the wider community. The two directors of Real Food Ilkley CIC were supported by a committed and loyal group of volunteers as well as the contracted Market Manager and her assistant.

Consultation with stakeholders

Ilkley BID - this group represents the local retailers, we work closely to ensure we address any issues and concerns. We also supported an Ilkley BID initiative “Yorkshire Day In Ilkley” with a full day award-winning market in August 2025 Market visitors - we ask for feedback/comments/suggestions at each market which we then discuss (and act on if appropriate) at Director meetings. Ilkley Town Council - as we are providing a free community event that includes a road closure we communicate regularly including attending Town Council meetings to provide updates and report on progress. Bradford Council - we work closely with Bradford Markets, Highways and the local councillors. Local community groups and charities – we offer groups a free stall to promote their aims and fundraise.
