PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES 1. To educate the nation on the subject of equality, diversity and equity through workshops in the private and public sectors, that promote the elimination of unlawful discrimination across the protected characteristics*. age, disability, gender re-assignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation 2. To consult and advise the private and public sector in the field of equalities policy guidance, training and the evaluation of application. 3. An additional experiential component emerged through the workshops discourse. The experiences of those participants with abandonment challenges was highlighted through a TEDx Talk, Why did the Windrush? This led to several events and discussions working with Goldsmiths University to deliver several “Audience with Royston John” seminars. These were all over subscribed and participants were fully engaged. In addition, several oversubscribed activities took place on zoom too. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE During the year, the organisation continued to see the positive impact of on-going changes maintaining its momentum for growth. In excess of 530 people experienced 42 different activities during the financial year. Trained individuals and organisations continue to apply the principal teachings and behavioural applications gained from the NCBI activities. As before 50% of our community workshops were in-person with the remainder being on-line. The online workshops engaged several participants from several countries. These include Kenya, Switzerland, Spain, France, Belgium and Austria. . We engaged withWomen Within supporting them to develop into a more integrated organisation. NCBI Training ran a number of one day workshop initiatives and created the possibility for 6 Black & Brown women to participate on the WW weekend development. The Social Work Faculty of Texas University continue to visit the UK with their students on an annual basis and for the 20th year NCBI Training is privileged to be an integral part of their integration to the UK and their cohesive travel relationship building. NCBI Training again delivered another organisation developmental, relationship building workshop for Enthum Foundation, Brighton. This was the 5th occasion that we have worked with this charitable organisation. In addition, we had a very engaging experience sharing the TEDx Talk, “Why did the Windrush?” with the Spark2Life staff. Our Mottingham Man, grant funded project was very successful and the participants that engaged learned a lot from the NCBI Training personal and community developmental activities. However, we did find Mottingham a difficult place for outreach and we would have favoured more men in attendance. In addition we continue to deliver Shifting Attitudes practise sessions and these have the effect of improving relationships in families and communities. The TALES (Talking Aloud Leadership Equity Sessions) are lunchtime snippets of the work usually aimed at HR Managers and organisation leaders and is geared towards improving relationships in the work environment. 2
