During the reporting period, Jamaican Heritage UK CIC delivered activities supporting the health, wellbeing, and cultural awareness of the Jamaican and wider Black community. The organisation held meetings addressing key health issues affecting Black men, including diabetes, prostate cancer, and mental health. These sessions promoted awareness, early intervention, and encouraged individuals to seek medical advice and support. The CIC also promoted Jamaican culture by showcasing the diversity of Black music from Jamaica, strengthening cultural identity and community engagement. A conference was convened to discuss the experiences of Jamaican teachers in the UK, highlighting challenges faced and exploring how the diaspora can provide support. In addition, the CIC hosted meetings for the Jamaican High Commissioner in Birmingham and engaged with the Jamaican Government to raise and represent diaspora concerns. These activities have contributed to improved awareness, community cohesion, cultural promotion, and advocacy for the Jamaican diaspora in the UK.
