In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. During the financial year, the African Nurses and Midwives Association UK continued to operate as a community-focused organisation dedicated to supporting African nurses and midwives across the United Kingdom. The Association’s primary activities centred on professional development, mentorship, and educational support aimed at enhancing the skills, confidence, and career progression of its members. Throughout the year, the organisation delivered a structured programme of educational initiatives, including training sessions. These activities addressed key areas such as clinical skills development, leadership, career advancement, and navigating the UK healthcare system. African Nurses and Midwives Association UK will carry all its activities for the benefit of the community, or a section of the community. African Nurses and Midwives Association seeks the interests of African nurses and midwives in the United Kingdom. The African Nurses, Midwives association enables Africans who are nurses, midwives in the United Kingdom to learn through sharing expertise, experiences and mentorship through support. The programmes were designed to ensure that members remained competent, confident, and aligned with professional standards, thereby contributing to improved healthcare delivery within their respective workplaces. A significant aspect of the Association’s work was its mentorship programme. Experienced nurses and midwives provided guidance and structured support to newly qualified or internationally educated members, particularly those transitioning into the UK workforce. This mentorship facilitated smoother integration, reduced professional isolation, and enhanced retention within the healthcare sector. By fostering peer support and knowledge sharing, the organisation helped build a strong sense of community and professional solidarity among its members. The Association also created networking opportunities that enabled members to share best practice, discuss challenges, and celebrate professional achievements. These engagements strengthened community cohesion and promoted cultural inclusivity within the wider healthcare environment. The impact of these activities has been substantial in view of the feedback from 40 members. Members reported increased confidence in their clinical and professional roles, improved career progression opportunities, and a stronger sense of belonging within the UK healthcare system. Indirectly, the work of the Association has contributed to improved patient care outcomes, as better supported and more skilled healthcare professionals are able to deliver higher-quality care. In addition, the Association’s work has benefited the wider community by supporting a diverse workforce that reflects the populations it serves. By empowering African nurses and midwives, the organisation has contributed to workforce sustainability within the NHS and other healthcare providers, helping to address staffing challenges and enhance culturally competent care delivery. Overall, the African Nurses and Midwives Association UK has fulfilled its community interest objectives by providing meaningful educational and mentorship support, promoting professional excellence, and fostering a supportive and inclusive professional community. 50 members have proactively engaged with educational sessions undertaken including stating significant improvement in the understanding of their role and professional practice. Member participation is fantastic including 78 members through partnerships with members who work across within the NHS, the private sector and Higher Education Institutions in UK. The association has contributed to the promotion of the highest standards of Nursing and Midwifery care through its activities for the public that its members through the various tailored activities undertaken this year. The Association has supported its members through personal and professional development, the promotion, enrichment and social capital through culturally tailored educational activities for the good of the public the members it serves.
