With the successful operation since August 2023 of an ad hoc group of SEN parents called "the Special Cooperative", a majority of the group decided that we should formalise the group through registration with The Companies House as a Community Interest Company (CIC) limited by guarantee (ie there are no shares etc). The registered company number is 15924346. The Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies decides whether an organisation is eligible to become, or continue to be, a CIC based on the application. We lodged the application and we secured registration as a CIC. We have started trading in the name of "The Post-EHCP Special Needs CIC" as of 1st September 2024, replacing the ad hoc group known as "The Special Cooperative." The Post-EHCP Special Needs CIC was formed by three SEN parents working hard on projects to provide training and engagements for their SEN children, who in turn will contribute to the wellness of the SEN Community. We need funding from charities to help our cause. Our motto is “Charity Starts at Home”. With the formation of the CIC, we are now a formal entity, approved and recognised by the Regulator, where we will continue to work for the benefit of the Special Needs young people in Camden in multiple projects. A website is being designed and will be launched imminently.
