Company activities and impact

Beyond Boundaries provides creative workshops to groups who can be marginalised from the arts due to disability, age, gender or displacement. With support from funders we create and deliver bespoke activities and experiences. During the year Beyond Boundaries created a free arts taster day for elderly residents of Richmond borough. This was part of the councils Full of Life festival. One young person was employed to help out. Beyond Boundaries also created a free felting workshop for young people with disabilities within Kingston borough to celebrate Disability awareness week. The felted pieces they created were then made into a piece of art work to be displayed in a community care centre.

Consultation with stakeholders

The local stakeholders for the Full of Life arts day were given a questionnaire to complete - there was a 100% satisfaction outcome with the elderly participants citing the joy of learning new skills and having something positive and creative to do while combatting feelings of social isolation. The local stakeholders for the disability awareness week celebration similarly enjoyed the opportunity to gain a new skill - have somewhere to go and mix with people they don't often see or had not met. All enjoyed the group participation involved and the pride on seeing the completed art work.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid to the director for the full of life festival was £250 this covered materials and time to prepare for and run the workshop. The total amount paid to the director for the disability awareness week event was £500 to cover materials planning, delivery of the workshop and time to create the finished art work.
