Company activities and impact

The 5 Towns Veterans Support Hub CIC has been holding regular coffee mornings to help veterans and their families with any issues they have, especially mental health. At the veterans Centre in Purston Park, Featherstone, we have also held specialist support sessions with the aid of the DWP, CAB, Turning Point and GASPED. We have worked with these organisations to provide support and see if there any other issues that require support so that we can signpost to the right organisation. We have carried out a number of home visits to provide support and have been working with regimental associations, doctors surgeries, Wakefield Council and others to help them improve their provisions to veterans and their families

Consultation with stakeholders

We have worked with the following: Yorkshire Volunteers, Castleford & District naval Association, The Rifles, The Royal Yorkshire Regiment, Women's Royal AirForces Association, Royal Airforces Association, SSAFA, Wakefield Council, Featherstone Town Council, CAB, DWP, Nova Wakefield and RFCA to let them all know of our services, provide support to veterans and their families and to share best practice On the back of our improvements, we were awarded the King's Award for Voluntarty Service in November 2024.
