Balance sheet statements

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when goods have been delivered to customers such that risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to them. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.

Company activities and impact

The Norwich Vegans C.I.C. promotes veganism in the local community by running vegan events, arranging meet ups and using social media. During the period 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025 the group ran one large vegan market in Norwich promoting veganism and providing a space for people to meet and local businesses to trade. These events are well supported with an estimated 1,500 visitors and around 50 small businesses trading. This helps to support these businesses to reach their target audience and is a highlight of the local vegan scene. The group also continued to support a local vegan food bank and animal sanctuary and arrange subsidised social events for the local vegan community giving a chance for people to meet fellow vegans, share ideas and combat isolation.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders are the local vegan community and discussions are had on our social media pages which have over 3,000 members as to the future of the group and what people consider would be beneficial to support local vegans.
