Company activities and impact

Mindset Sport & The Community Kit Bag Statement of Community Impact Overview Mindset Sport and The Community Kit Bag were established with a shared mission: to remove barriers to participation in sport and improve mental wellbeing within local communities and grassroots sport. Together, both organisations operate using a social impact model where access, affordability, wellbeing and community development sit ahead of profit generation. Any surplus generated is reinvested to expand community services and increase reach. Community Need Addressed Participation in sport can significantly improve physical health, social connection and mental wellbeing. However, many individuals and families face barriers including: Cost of sports equipment and clothing Lack of access to mental health support in grassroots sport Social isolation and reduced confidence Limited wellbeing education within amateur clubs Mindset Sport and The Community Kit Bag were created to respond directly to these challenges through practical, low-cost and preventative interventions. Community Activities Delivered 1. Reducing Financial Barriers to Sport The Community Kit Bag collects donated sports clothing and equipment and redistributes these items at low cost or free of charge to individuals and families who need support. The initiative allows participants to access sport without the financial burden of purchasing new equipment and encourages sustainable reuse of sportswear. Support includes: Free sports kit access through eligibility pathways Low-cost sports clothing and equipment Community collection campaigns Equipment redistribution to clubs and individuals This approach supports inclusion and enables more people to benefit from sport regardless of economic circumstances. 2. Improving Mental Health Through Grassroots Sport Mindset Sport delivers wellbeing resources and mental health education designed specifically for grassroots sports environments. Activities include: Mental Health First Aid awareness Wellbeing resources for clubs Training and education opportunities Creating safer and more supportive sporting environments The programme focuses on prevention, helping clubs build cultures that recognise and support mental wellbeing before individuals reach crisis point. 3. Creating a Sustainable Community Impact Model A key benefit delivered by both organisations is the creation of a circular social enterprise model. Income generated through resale activity and fundraising is reinvested into: Free mental health training opportunities Community wellbeing initiatives Expansion of access programmes Continued kit redistribution activities This creates a self-supporting ecosystem where sporting participation directly funds improved community wellbeing outcomes. Outcomes and Community Benefit As a result of the activities undertaken, Mindset Sport and The Community Kit Bag have delivered measurable and observable community value through: Increased access to sport for lower-income individuals and families Reduced exclusion caused by equipment costs Improved awareness of mental health within grassroots sport Increased opportunities for volunteers and community engagement Reinvestment of trading activity into social outcomes rather than private gain Promotion of environmental sustainability through reuse and reduction of waste streams Social Value and Future Intent Mindset Sport and The Community Kit Bag remain committed to expanding access to sport and wellbeing support across communities. Future priorities include: Increasing the volume of donated kit redistributed Expanding free mental health education provision Growing partnerships with clubs and community organisations Developing sustainable fundraising and trading models Increasing national reach while maintaining local community impact The organisations continue to demonstrate that access to sport and mental wellbeing support should not be determined by financial circumstance
