Watership Farm is a mixed use farm/smallholding with canal side moorings, benefiting the boating community, and amenity users of the canal and towpath on the Kennet and Avon Canal, near Bath. There are very few affordable long-term moorings on the Kennet and Avon Canal. Watership Farm provides a secure, inclusive, healthy and vibrant space for boaters, their families and pets, in a low impact and sustainable way. The company aims to provide opportunities for artisan members of the boating community to pursue their trades and hobbies. E.g. woodworking, yoga etc. There are veg plots and orchards along with chickens, sheep and pigs to look after. The company aims to provide opportunities for the boating community to produce food in a low impact and sustainable way, with surplus available for sale to the wider community. Helping the boating community and canal users to have a healthier attitude towards the natural world, having an attitude that values natural capital and the virtues of rural life. We aim to care for the unique local environment, for the general benefit of the wider community, improving the wellbeing of everyone using this stretch of canal. In a linear constantly changing community the aim of the company is to support boaters and allow a general opportunity to foster community cohesion providing a hub and stability E.g. farm shop, fetes, allotments, vehicle access, wharf services, etc. Safe and direct access to the moorings and canal towpath for boaters and other canal users.
